York 0-0 Rochdale

York and Rochdale played out an uninspiring goalless draw at Bootham Crescent in a game of few chances.

In a tight first half, Dale striker George Donnelly has the best opening when he wasted a one-on-one with the goalkeeper when in behind the defence.

Joe Thompson headed just wide from a Bobby Grant corner and shortly after Chris Smith fired over for York.

Late on John McGrath nearly stole the match when his clean strike was just tipped over by Josh Lillis.

York City manager Nigel Worthington told BBC Radio York:

We need more quality - Worthington

"I thought we were well worth the point. A little bit more quality in the final third in both halves, we could have created something to maybe get all three and that's something we've got to continue to work on.

"But overall the commitment, the energy the effort shown by the players, I can't fault them.

"We're asking them to play at a higher tempo, which isn't easy to take to, but they've adapted very well.

"We just need that little bit more quality in the final third and someone to get on the end of it."
