MK Dons 3-0 Tranmere

MK Dons kept alive their slim League One play-off hopes with victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Tranmere.

Dean Lewington nodded in a rebound to put the hosts ahead, while Tranmere's Mamady Sidibe missed from six yards.

Stephen Gleeson converted Shaun Williams' arrowed 60-yard pass and Darren Potter headed in after Williams' 22-yard free-kick had struck the bar.

The Dons are nine points adrift of the top six, while Tranmere are outside the play-off places on goal difference.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

Win was "comfortable" - Robinson

"We played probably better than that on Tuesday and got nothing from the game.

"I thought we were comfortable and we never really feared we'd get anything other than a win from the game.

"We've decided to be a little bit more adventurous when we're taking set-pieces and from free-kicks - we got more in the box.

"It was a very good day on the basis of our performance level."
