Woking 5-2 AFC Telford

Bradley Bubb hit his second hat-trick of the season as Woking snuffed out relegation-haunted AFC Telford United's spirited second-half revival to win at the Kingfield Stadium.

After Bubb gave Woking an early lead, Jayden Stockley found the top corner before Bubb added a second from 18 yards for a 3-0 lead at the interval.

Steve Jones' 10-yard strike and an Aaron Williams header made it 3-2.

But Bubb's penalty sealed it and Kevin Betsy tapped in deep into injury time.

Williams' goal at least gave Woking an uncomfortable 10 minutes, especially as Jones had hit the post just four minutes earlier.

But, when Telford keeper Ryan Young felled Jack Parkinson in the box in the 89th minute, Bubb fired home the penalty, before Betsy completed the scoring five minutes into injury time.

Telford's run of league fixtures without a win now totals 25, seriously threatening the Conference record of 26 set by Leamington in 1981.

They would match that if they fail to win at promotion-chasing Macclesfield on Tuesday.

AFC Telford United manager John Psaras told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"The pitch today was a potato field. I'm bitterly disappointed with the result and bitterly disappointed with how we gave ourselves a mountain to climb.

"I made a change at half time and it made a difference - and I made a change in the second half and it made a difference, getting us back in the game.

"When we got it back at 3-2 we were the better side and steaming ahead for an equaliser.

"But passion from Ryan Young has seen it fit for the referee to give them a penalty. And, for them to go on and win 5-2 is not a fair reflection."

Woking manager Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"We're over the 50-point mark now which is our number one priority. It is a good achievement and has guaranteed us our place [in the division].

"We made this win hard work but as I say that, we can't be disappointed with three points and five goals.

"Being a part-time club and knowing you are guaranteed national Conference football for next season, we have done very well."
