Cambridge 1-1 Ebbsfleet Utd

  • Published

Ebbsfleet are now six points adrift of safety in the Blue Square Bet Premier table after conceding a late equaliser in their match at Cambridge.

The visitors had Phil Walsh's shot cleared off the line and a Matt Godden effort was pushed on to the post.

But the Fleet went ahead when Charlie Wassmer gave the ball away to Liam Enver-Marum and he passed to Godden, who shot his side into the lead.

However, Harrison Dunk levelled in the 80th minute, finishing off a rebound.

Godden missed a late chance to grab a winner as Ebbsfleet remain 23rd and are six points behind Stockport in 20th position.

Money ready for 'harsh' decisions

"I thought it was a Jekyll and Hyde performance. The first 30 minutes we were terrific but just couldn't score.

"But we can't be disappointed just because we didn't put the ball into the back of the net.

"The second half just wasn't good enough. It sums up the inconsistencies of the season.

"There were individual errors in a game we dominated for 30 minutes. We should be grateful to come off with a point."
