Plymouth Argyle: John Sheridan not getting carried away

Plymouth Argyle manager John Sheridan will not get carried away despite his side's 2-0 win against Cheltenham Town.

A goal from Reuben Reid and an own goal by Michael Hector gave the Pilgrims their fourth victory in five games.

"It was a great effort from the lads to bounce back after York and we could have scored five or six," Sheridan told BBC Radio Devon.

"We haven't done anything yet. It's another three points but we still need more points to stay in the league."

He added: "They're a good team and we had to earn it - we matched them in all departments.

"Hopefully York was a one-off as I've been pleased with how we've been playing and we've just got to keep those standards to keep us in the league."

Plymouth moved up to 18th as a result of the win and are now three points clear of the relegation zone.

"It's still very tight, with six or seven teams involved. We've just got to look after ourselves," Sheridan insisted.

"We've got two hard away games now and it's important that we get something from both games.

"If we do that it gives us that little bit of hope and hopefully we'll stay in the league."
