Truro City manager Lee Hodges praised the 'professional' way his side held on to beat AFC Hornchurch 2-1 in the Blue Square Bet South.

Stewart Yetton gave City the lead just after half-time, before Joe May equalised five minutes later.

But Andy Watkins sealed the win with a goal with 28 minutes left.

"We managed to see it out. It was a very professional job and I'm pleased for everybody at the club," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall., external

"It's happened so many times this season where we just can't see a game out.

"We were hoping that a third one would go in and it'd kill the game off, but at 2-1 we were still vulnerable."

It was Yetton's third goal in as many games since coming back from a knee injury and his form has left Hodges wondering what his side, who were relegated earlier this month, could have achieved with him in the team.

Hodges said: "He's scored three in three and I just think [about] if he had been fit throughout the whole season. But it's great to have him back firing on all cylinders."

Hodges also paid tribute to the club's fans that made the trip to east London.

"They were absolutely brilliant," he said.

"They came in their numbers and you could hear them from the first minute to the last.

"I've been in the clubhouse and thanked them for everything they've done - it's much appreciated."
