Brechin City 2-0 Albion Rovers
- Published
Derek Carcary netted a goal in each half as Brechin City secured a third-place finish in Division Two with victory over relegated Albion Rovers.
It means they will face second-top Alloa Athletic in the promotion play-off semi-final.
Arbroath, Forfar Athletic and Stenhousemuir will fight it out for the last play-off place on the final day of the season to see who takes on the side finishing ninth in Division One in the other semi-final.
Brechin, beaten 3-1 by Rovers 10 days ago, made a confident start and their dominance was rewarded in the 19th minute when they moved in front.
Carcary produced a 12-yard finish after Gary Fusco's effort was parried by Rovers goalkeeper Graeme Shepherd to claim his 11th goal of the season and fourth in five games.
Shepherd then saved well from Gerard McLauchlan and Fusco before Alan Trouten struck the crossbar in the 38th minute.
Carcary doubled Brechin's advantage in the 69th minute with a fine 20-yard strike into the bottom corner as they claimed their first win in four attempts.
It was a fifth defeat in six games for Rovers, who were relegated on Saturday after losing 4-1 to Alloa.
