Forfar Athletic 2-1 Ayr Utd

Forfar claimed the final play-off spot on the last day of the Second Division season with a gritty win over 10-man Ayr United.

Chris Templeman got the home side off to a dream start when he headed in after 10 minutes.

But there was a setback for the hosts when Michael Bolochoweckyj's failed clearance attempt resulted in an own goal.

Forfar quickly restored the lead before the break when Templeman was brought down by Darren Brownlie in the box after a sustained period of possession.

Brownlie was sent off for his protests and Iain Campbell slotted the penalty into the bottom left corner.

Michael Donald gave the home fans a late scare when he fired over the bar from six yards but Forfar were able to see out the game against Ayr's 10 men and finish the season in fourth place.
