Former Rangers striker Nacho Novo admits he misses the club and has reiterated his desire to return despite them being outside the top flight.
The 34-year-old Spaniard quit Rangers in 2010 and presently plays for Spanish Second Division side Huesca.
"I miss Rangers a lot," he said. "Obviously I love this club and would like to come back.
"It's my home, really. For family reasons, it's actually harder for me to stay in Spain."
Novo won three Scottish Premier League titles with Rangers as well as helping them reach the 2008 Uefa Cup final.
He ended a six-year spell at Ibrox to head back to his homeland with Sporting Gijon then a short spell with Legia Warsaw before starting his second spell with Huesca last year.
"My child still stays in Scotland, so it is difficult," he said when asked about his future at the end of the season.
"I never thought I would miss it this much. The people here were always great with me. They treated me very well.
"In some ways, I regret leaving, in others I don't. I'm the type of person who never regrets things. It's all about having different experiences."
Since Novo left Ibrox, Rangers have been through a financial meltdown that led to this season in Division Three.
Despite winning the title, Ally McCoist's side face at least another two seasons in the Scottish Football League before they can return to the Scottish Premier league.
Novo, who was back in Rangers colours for a legends charity match against a Manchester United select, is undeterred and said: "There has been lots of rumours and talking.
"It's now between my agent and McCoist. I spoke a little with him today, not much. I will speak again when the time is right."
Novo perhaps squandered a chance to impress when he missed a string of chances - while McCoist himself scored - in Rangers' 4-1 win.
