Rochdale's teenage defender Joe Rafferty has signed a new one-year contract to stay at Spotland.

The 19-year-old, who came through Liverpool's youth system, played 23 times in all competitions last season.

Youngster Rafferty is the third Rochdale player to commit his future to the League Two club this week.

Left-back Michael Rose signed a two-year contract, while Steve Collis has agreed a one-year deal that will also see him become goalkeeping coach.

Manager Keith Hill has also added striker Scott Hogan and midfielders Bastien Hery and Peter Vincenti to his squad ahead of next season.
