Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott has agreed a new one-year deal to remain in charge at Brunton Park.

Assistant coach Graham Kavanagh and goalkeeping coach Tony Caig have also accepted new 12-month contracts, but the paperwork has yet to be completed.

"Finalising that part of it takes a matter of hours," chief executive John Nixon told the club website., external

"But we are in a situation where they are all away on courses or on family breaks," he added.

Abbott, who succeeded John Ward in December 2008, and Caig are expected to return to Cumbria next week, but Kavanagh is unlikely to return until June because he is on a coaching course commitments.

Meanwhile, youth boss Eric Kinder has agreed a two-year deal which will take him through to the summer of 2015.
