Conference South club Chelmsford City have appointed Dean Holdsworth as their new manager.
He replaces Glenn Pennyfather, who was sacked earlier this month after the club failed in the promotion play-offs for the third time in four seasons.
The 44-year-old guided Newport County to the Conference South title in 2010, winning the league by 28 points.
He was sacked as Aldershot Town boss in March before they were relegated from the Football League.
Former striker Holdsworth moved into management after a 19-year playing career which took him to 14 clubs, most notably Brentford, Wimbledon and Bolton, the latter paying £3.5m for his services in 1997.
