Bolton Wanderers have signed midfielder Gary Fraser after his exit from Hamilton, reports BBC Radio Manchester.

Manager Dougie Freedman was keen to sign the 19-year-old in January, but the former Celtic youngster rejected a move to the English Championship club.

It is expected that Fraser will join Scottish Premier League outfit Partick Thistle on loan in the coming season.

He appeared for Thistle in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, scoring twice in a 5-1 victory against Annan Athletic.

Fraser spent a season with Accies, making 18 appearances before his contract was terminated in May.

He had rejected a transfer to Bolton in January despite having passed a medical and a fee being agreed between the clubs.
