Chesterfield held Rochdale to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling encounter.

The visitors took the lead when Marc Richards met a cross from Gary Roberts and headed home from 10 yards.

George Donnelly missed a penalty for Dale but keeper Tommy Lee brought down Scott Hogan moments later and Andrew Tutte levelled the scores.

Hogan put the home side ahead shortly after the break but Roberts lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper Josh Lillis to secure a point.

Chesterfield remain unbeaten and, after winning their first two games, sit third in the League Two table.
