Alfreton Town are in discussions with an Asian-based consortium about securing new investment, reports BBC Radio Derby.

It is unclear if that means the potential investors want to buy the Conference Premier club outright, or are simply keen to invest.

Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage and the group are understood to have visited the team's ground.

The club have not confirmed or denied the reports.

But chairman Wayne Bradley did say in his recent programme notes that he was working to secure a "potentially revolutionary new direction for the club."

Manager Nicky Law has steered Alfreton into eighth place in the Conference Premier table, having won three of their five league games this season.
