Carlisle have signed Troy Archibald-Henville on a month's loan from fellow League One club Swindon Town.

The 24-year-old joined the Robins from Exeter in 2012 but started just three league games last season.

The Cumbrians hope to have the centre-back available for Saturday's trip to Brentford but have not yet received Football League clearance.

"Troy is a big, tough defender who has plenty of experience at this level," manager Greg Abbott said.

"He can play a bit of football too and he joins us at a time when we need a bit of cover in that area."

On a busy day at Brunton Park, Carlisle have also cancelled the loan spell of Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell.

Meanwhile, youngsters Josh Todd and Alex Salmon have agreed six-month switches to Annan Athletic and Alloa Athletic respectively.
