Bristol Rovers 2-2 Hartlepool

John-Joe O'Toole rescued a point for Bristol Rovers with a last-minute equaliser against Hartlepool United.

O'Toole fired in low from 15 yards after Luke James' close-range first-half brace put Pools ahead.

Matt Harrold opened the scoring for Rovers when he chested down Eliot Richards' pass and placed the ball beyond Pools keeper Scott Flinders.

James struck twice to give Pools hope of a second win in succession before O'Toole's late strike tied the game.

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward told BBC Radio Bristol:

"I'm as happy as I can be. We got something out of the game that was richly deserved. We made two lapses in the first half and it's cost us goals.

"The rest of the time we've been right in the game and in the second half we dominated.

"I've got to be pleased with the attitude of my players."

Hartlepool United manager Colin Cooper told BBC Tees:

"We've been on two of the longest trips of the season and come away with two points and today been disappointed.

"At Torquay we were happy to come away with a point, but today we're devastated to come away with a point and that's the measure of our improvement.

"We now know if we stay in a game we're going to create chances and we're starting to create chances which is important for me as the manager."
