Steve Jennings: Tranmere Rovers return for midfielder

Tranmere have signed Steve Jennings on non-contract terms - more than four years after the midfielder left Rovers.

The 28-year-old turned down a new deal at Prenton Park to join Scottish club Motherwell, external on a free transfer in 2009.

He also went on to have a spell with , external but his contract with the Sky Blues was cancelled at the end of the summer transfer window.

Jennings has signed in time to feature for Tranmere at Rotherham United on Tuesday.

Ronnie Moore's side are 22nd in League One, having won only two of their 12 league games so far this season.

Jennings made his senior debut for Rovers in October 2003 as an 18-year-old and scored 10 goals in 167 appearances during his first spell as a Tranmere player.
