Luton stretched their unbeaten league run to nine matches with a hard-fought goalless draw against Gateshead.

Gateshead's Rob Ramshaw went closest to scoring but his glancing header ended up just wide, while Luke Guttridge was off target with Luton's best chance.

Lewis Sirrell embarked on a powerful run forward for Gateshead only to see his shot deflected over the crossbar.

Luton upped their intensity in the closing 10 minutes but struggled to test home goalkeeper Adam Bartlett.

"[The conditions] were the worst I've known, and I'm 63. It was absolutely atrocious, but both teams stuck at it.

"I thought we had the best two chances of the game but I think it would have been unfair if we'd have got a winner today.

"In these conditions I've got to say I'm absolutely delighted with what we've done."
