Tamworth 0-0 Braintree Town

Tamworth held in-form Braintree to a draw despite having debutant Charlie Allen sent off in the first half.

Allen, who joined on loan from Gillingham on Thursday, came on as a 33rd-minute substitute but lasted only eight minutes before seeing red for a foul on Chez Isaac.

However the visitors failed to make the extra man count.

James Mulley fired wide before Daniel Holman hit the crossbar, while keeper Cameron Belford denied Kenny Davis.

Braintree manager Alan Devonshire told BBC Essex:

"It was a tough old game. We knew what they were going to do with two forwards they started with - route one.

"We've got a draw, we're disappointed we didn't get all three points. To be fair we lacked a bit of quality in front of goal so maybe they deserved a draw.

"It was difficult conditions. If you go through the whole team, one or two did OK, but we didn't play that well.

"After playing against 10 men, it's two points dropped."
