AC Milan: Massimiliano Allegri assured job is safe

AC Milan insist they will stand by under-pressure coach Massimiliano Allegri despite the club's poor form.

Milan could only manage a goalless draw away to Serie A bottom side Chievo on Sunday which means they have not won in all competitions since 19 October.

But Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says the club plan to keep faith with 46-year-old Allegri.

"I just talked to (club president Silvio) Berlusconi. We'll go forward with Allegri," Galliani said.

"He agrees with me. If Robinho had scored instead of hitting the post against Chievo we would be talking about a win.

"We will look at the positive things. At least finally we didn't concede."

Milan's sixth match without a win left them 10th in the table on 13 points - 19 behind Serie A leaders Roma.

But Allegri, who replaced Brazilian Leonardo in June 2010, is confident he will hold on to his job.

"I'm the coach of Milan and if the club wanted another coach, they would tell me," Allegri said.
