Nick Pope: Charlton Athletic recall keeper from York loan spell
- Published
Charlton Athletic have recalled goalkeeper Nick Pope from his loan spell at York City.
The 21-year-old only joined the League Two side last week and has made two appearances for the Minstermen.
Pope is required back at The Valley after Ben Hamer picked up an ankle injury in the warm-up before Tuesday's game against Doncaster.
Scans confirmed ligament damage rather than a break, but a timeframe has not been set for Hamer's return.
Pope, who made his debut for Charlton as a substitute in the final game of last season, signed a new three-year deal in September and he is expected to be on the bench for the match at home to Ipswich on Saturday, providing cover for Ben Alnwick.
