Oxford United have extended the loan stay of Fulham winger Ryan Williams until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Australian arrived at the League Two club in the summer, initially until January.

But having impressed in the 19 games he has played for the U's this season, the club have secured his services for the remainder of the campaign.

"He is a good lad and an exciting player to have about," U's manager Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Oxford.

Williams, who began his career in English football at Portsmouth, has scored four goals so far this season and Wilder has been impressed with his attitude.

"He took his chance which is what you want to happen," he said.

"He's a positive boy off the pitch and a positive player on it. So we are delighted and thank Fulham for setting up the deal.

"We are getting an exciting and positive player for the remainder of the season. The challenge for young players is to carry on showing that consistency and if he does we will reap the benefits."
