Mike Phenix rescued a point as AFC Telford United held Conference North leaders Hednesford Town in a six-goal Boxing Day thriller at Keys Park.

Neil Byrne's own goal gave Hednesford a 16th-minute lead, before two strikes either side of half-time from Mike Grogan put Telford ahead.

Two goals in eight minutes from Marvin Robinson and Francino Francis then turned it round again for the Pitmen.

But Phenix came off the bench to head home and rescue a point on 83 minutes.

After seeing his side miss the chance to go top, Telford boss Liam Watson labelled it "one great goal, and five awful ones".

The goal of the game came from Grogan, who turned to volley in Adam Farrell's right-wing cross for the first of his brace.

Hednesford, managed by former Bucks boss Rob Smith, remain top, two points clear of Telford, who are third, going into Saturday's home date with Boston United (15:00 GMT).
