Captain Ashley Williams wants Swansea to bounce back from their recent defeats in the Premier League.

The Swans have lost they last two games to Everton at home and Chelsea away over the festive period.

Williams takes his side to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

"Villa Park is a very tough place to play but we know we are capable of winning there and bouncing back from these back-to-back defeats," said Williams.

"We have lost the last two, so it's going to be a massive game for both teams."

The Swansea lost 1-0 to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

They head to the Midlands to take on Paul Lambert's side, who suffered a fourth consecutive defeat when they lost at home to Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.

The Welsh side are in 11th place in the Premier League - one point and two positions above Villa ahead of their showdown.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has said he will make changes to his side for the trip to Villa.

Williams, meanwhile, believes it is key Swansea open a gap over the clubs below them in the table.

"It's very important - every game is in this league," said Wales captain Williams.

"They (Villa) lost to Palace at home on Boxing Day, and they will be desperate to make up for that, particularly as they are at home again.

"There is no concern for us with the defeats and the gap between the teams below us in the table.

"Our aim is to put some distance and the teams below us. We don't want to get caught up in that because there aren't any teams that are really falling away - it's very close."
