Reading: Adam Le Fondre says he would consider offers

Reading striker Adam Le Fondre says he could leave the Championship club in the January transfer window.

Le Fondre, 27, is the side's top scorer with seven goals, but has started just nine league games this season.

Asked by BBC Radio Berkshire whether he would consider an offer from another club, he replied: "Of course I would."

But manager Nigel Adkins responded by saying: "It is not on our agenda to be moving Adam on. We really want him to be at Reading Football Club."

Adkins continued: "I will be sitting down with all the players and they all have agents who will be very active behind the scenes because this is the window of opportunity to move things around."

Former Rochdale and Rotherham frontman Le Fondre last started a league game for the Royals on 23 November, when the side drew 0-0 against Blackburn.

The Stockport-born striker came on as a substitute as Stephen Kelly's injury-time goal rescued a point in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest on New Year's Day, and has appeared from the bench on a further seven occasions.

"It is frustrating for me as a footballer and I want to play games. That is what I am paid to do. I am not paid to sit and watch games," he said.

"I want to play games and that is something I have not been doing.

"I haven't played for two months now and for someone who is leading the goalscoring charts, to not have sufficient playing time is something for me to look at."
