Oldham sign David Worrall, Gary Harkins and Adam Lockwood

New Oldham signings

Oldham Athletic have signed midfielders David Worrall and Gary Harkins on loan until the end of the season.

Worrall, 23, joins from Rotherham, while Harkins, 29, comes in from Scottish Premiership side St Mirren.

The Latics have also brought in defender Adam Lockwood, 32, on a free transfer having recently played at Conference North side Guiseley.

Meanwhile, the League One side's manager Lee Johnson says "you never know what can happen" as his side prepare to face Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

"I am excited for what the game will bring," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"The media attention for the players and fans and everything that goes with such a big cup tie against a team that is so bang in form.

"It is a great day for us and we want to make sure we give our best and give a good account of ourselves.

"It is a game we are not expected to win but it is 11 humans against 11 humans and you never know what can happen.

"We will have 6,000 screaming fans behind us during the game and it is one of the iconic footballing stadiums in the world."
