Crusaders beat Glenavon 3-1 at Mourneview Park to finish third in the Irish Premiership and secure a place in next season's Europa League.

Crusaders secured a third place finish in the Premiership and European football next season by beating cup finalists Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

Paul Heatley fed Declan Caddell, who coolly slotted home in the first minute and then Nathan Hanley made it 2-0 with a close-range header after 53 minutes.

Gary McCutcheon fired in the third on 58 after a good run from Davy McMaster.

An 82nd minute penalty from Andy McGrory was some consolation for Gary Hamilton's charges.

The Crues were deserved winners and had other chances in the game, McCutcheon seeing his deflected effort go wide.

Andy Kilmartin saw his first-half drive blocked for the hosts.

Glenavon entertain Linfield in their final league game of the campaign on Saturday, while Crusaders are at home to Premiership champions Cliftonville.
