Reading warn Leeds United off coach Eamonn Dolan

Dolan had a 16-month spell as Exeter boss - his only previous permanent managerial post

Reading have warned Leeds off their academy boss Eamonn Dolan.

The former Exeter City manager has been linked with the head coach vacancy at Elland Road.

The Royals said in a statement: "Eamonn is an integral part of our club and is under contract with us.

"He has a fantastic relationship with our manager Nigel Adkins and we do not welcome any approaches from any club for our key staff. We hope this is the end of the matter."

They added: "Eamonn has done an incredible job since taking over from Brendan Rodgers and we hope he will be a big part of our club for many years to come."

Leeds parted company with former Royals manager Brian McDermott at the end of May, with owner Massimo Cellino keen to employ a head coach to work under a director of football.

Meanwhile, Cellino has sold Serie A side Cagliari to Italian chemical company Fluorsid Group for an undisclosed fee.

The 57-year-old had previously agreed to sell the Italian outfit to an American investment group only for the deal to fall through last week.

"During the first few months of 2014, I convinced myself that the time had come to end my 22-year experience at the helm of Cagliari Calcio," Cellino told the club website.

"They have been intense and marvellous years during which I have experienced unforgettable moments. I want to thank everyone that has accompanied me in this journey."
