Hartlepool United defender Neil Austin has signed a new contract, the terms of which have not been disclosed.

Austin, 31, has been a regular since his switch from rivals Darlington in June 2009, making 198 appearances.

He was restricted to 35 appearances in 2013-14 after a toe injury in February ended his season prematurely.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract; it's nice to get pen to paper," Austin told the club website., external "I'm already looking forward to coming back."
