Hibernian: Mark Venus among applicants for manager's job
- Published
Former Hibernian assistant boss Mark Venus is one of the applicants for the manager's job at Easter Road, BBC Scotland has learned.
Venus, 47, was assistant to Tony Mowbray at Hibs from 2004-06.
He also assisted Mowbray at West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Middlesbrough.
Venus was briefly caretaker manager at 'Boro in 2013 and is now one of the candidates to replace Terry Butcher, who was sacked by Hibs on 10 June.
The former England captain left the Edinburgh side following their relegation to the Scottish Championship.
Dumbarton boss and ex-Hibs captain Ian Murray has played down the prospect of him taking over at Easter Road.
