Nigel Atangana: Portsmouth sign non-league midfielder

Portsmouth have completed the signing of Havant & Waterlooville midfielder Nigel Atangana on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old scored five goals in 40 appearances last season, his first year with the Conference South side.

Pompey said they "reached a mutual agreement" with the non-league club to sign Atangana.

"I watched Nigel play on numerous occasions for the Hawks last season and was impressed with what I saw," manager Andy Awford told the club website.

"I believe he's capable of making the step up and playing in the Football League."
