Championship club Millwall have signed Yeovil Town defender Byron Webster on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old turned down the offer of a new deal at Huish Park in favour of a two-year contract with the Lions.

Webster joined Yeovil from Northampton Town in summer 2012 and scored four goals in 45 appearances for the Glovers last season.

The centre-back began his career at York and subsequently had spells at Czech side FK Banik Most and Doncaster.

Webster, who is Millwall's third signing of the summer, will complete the move to The Den on 1 July.

The Lions had already brought in midfielder Carlos Edwards from Ipswich and striker Lee Gregory from FC Halifax Town.
