Kayode Odejayi has signed a one-year contract at Tranmere Rovers following the striker's departure from Rotherham.

The 32-year-old was released by the Millers at the end of the 2013-14 season after spending much of the campaign on loan at Accrington.

Odejayi, who has also played for Cheltenham, Barnsley and Colchester, scored eight times in 33 appearances for Stanley last term.

He is the fourth signing made by new Tranmere manager Rob Edwards.

Defender Michael Ihiekwe, midfielder Matt Gill and forward Eliot Richards have all agreed moves to Rovers, who were relegated to League Two in May.

"He's a powerful, aggressive striker who causes defenders lots of problems," Edwards told the club website., external

"He's good in the air, has a burst of speed and will give us some real strength in attack.

"Importantly, he'll bring our squad lots of experience which will be important to us next season."
