- Published
Goalkeeper Vito Mannone has signed a new two-year contract with Sunderland.
The deal was triggered automatically due to the number of games the 26-year-old Italian had played for the club.
Mannone made 36 appearances last season but his position appeared to be under threat following the recent arrival of Costel Pantilimon from Manchester City., external
Mannone wants to remain at Sunderland and established himself as head coach Gus Poyet's first-choice keeper at the Stadium of Light.
