Defender Rhys Bennett has signed a new two-year contract with Rochdale.

The 22-year-old was one of three players to have his contract automatically extended by 12 months and the League One club have now added a further year until 2016.

Bennett began his career as a Bolton trainee before making eight league starts for Scottish club Falkirk.

He joined Rochdale in 2012, and has so far made 62 appearances for the club, 25 of them last season.
