Leeds United have signed goalkeeper Stuart Taylor on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old was a free agent after leaving Reading last month following a two-year spell with the Royals.

Taylor started his career at Arsenal, who he helped to the Premier League title in 2001-02, before spells at Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Head coach Dave Hockaday told the club website:, external "He will be perfect for our dressing room because we have a very young team."

Despite making his professional debut in October 1999, during a loan spell at Bristol Rovers, Taylor has made just 90 career appearances.

During his three seasons at Etihad Stadium he played once, a 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup fourth round.
