Scott Robinson has been given the all clear as Hearts prepare for life in Scotland's second tier

Hearts have revealed the injury sustained by Scott Robinson in Sunday's 2-1 friendly win over Dinamo Bucharest is not as bad as first feared.

It was believed the midfielder had fractured his shin when he was taken to hospital following a tackle in the first half.

But an X-ray has shown the 22-year-old only suffered bruising.

"It's a big relief there isn't more serious damage to his leg," head coach Robbie Neilson told the club's website.

"He felt it was a bad one and to be fair, at the time it looked bad because of the size and speed of the swelling.

"But that's why we got him checked out straight away. He'll have to rest but we don't anticipate him being out for any length of time."

The Tynecastle side ran out winners against the Romanians courtesy of goals from Gary Oliver and Sam Nicholson.

And Neilson is thrilled with how his side are shaping up ahead of their Scottish Championship opener against Rangers at Ibrox on 10 August.

"The pleasing thing was the performance," he added. "They're implanting some of the things we're trying to put across on the training ground.

"We just need to continue doing that. That's why we do it in training. Hopefully in the next game they can take it a step further."
