Rory Patterson scored a second half hat-trick as Derry City completed a 9-0 aggregate Europa League win over Aberystwyth Town.

Michael Duffy and Barry McNamee struck in the opening 15 minutes for Peter Hutton's side, who won 4-0 in the first leg.

Patterson scored a third on the hour before adding a second on 84 minutes.

Two minutes later Patterson completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Luke Sherbon fouled Mark Timlim.

Patterson's hat-trick was the first by a Derry City player in Europe and the win was the club's biggest away win in European competitions.
