Macclesfield Town keep Chris Holroyd and Danny Whitaker

Born in Macclesfield, Holroyd first joined his hometown club on loan from Preston in August 2012

Macclesfield Town have agreed new one-year contracts with striker Chris Holroyd and midfielder Danny Whitaker.

Both players rejoined the club in the summer of 2013 having previously had stints at the Conference Premier side.

Holroyd, 27, was on loan at Moss Rose in 2012-13, and after returning last term scored seven goals in 41 games.

Whitaker, 33, played 201 times for the Silkmen between 2001 and 2006, and has netted four times in 44 league matches since signing on a free from Morecambe.
