Hamilton's Alex Neil at ease over transfer window

The looming transfer deadline does not worry Hamilton player-boss Alex Neil, even though he wants to add players.

Accies swept hapless Ross County aside 4-0 ahead of the closing of the summer transfer window on Monday.

"The deadline doesn't concern us because the players we sign will be free transfers," said Neil.

"I've got a few triallists coming in - a few wide men and a couple of centre-halfs to look at. The boys are doing fine but you can always do better."

Four goals, two of them penalties, gave managerless Ross County no hope of registering their first point of the season at New Douglas Park.

Accies captain Martin Canning, Mickael Antoine-Curier and Jason Scotland scored the goals which made it four Premiership wins out of five for second-place Hamilton.

Slovenian Uros Celcer was sent-off for the visitors, having conceded the second penalty, and County themselves had Richie Brittain's spot-kick saved by Michael McGovern.

"The first-half against Inverness is really the only time we didn't play as well as we should've done," said Neil.

"Today we were excellent. It was 4-0 but based on the way we played it could've been a lot more.

"At half-time I told them not to get frustrated because they played really well in the first-half, creating numerous opportunities but not able to put it in the net.

"I just said to keep playing the way you're playing and it'll open up for you, and eventually it did. When Ross County had a man sent off I thought we made the most of that as well."

And Neil paid compliments to Canning for getting scoring under way, after the former County defender headed in Danny Redmond's corner.

"He did it during the week against Alloa as well," he said.

"When you've got those tight games and you're really searching for that first goal, it becomes vital that you can get goals from a centre-half at set-pieces and things like that.

"Big Canzo's popped up with two in a week which is unlike him."

"I'm just really pleased for the players. I've had great belief in them in terms of competing at this level and I'm just happy they've managed to show that over the last four games."

A trip to face Dundee United is next for the South Lanarkshire side once Premiership action resumes following the international break.
