The President of the Football Association of Wales says Cardiff's Millennium Stadium could host a Euro 2016 home qualifying match.

Wales are scheduled to play all of their qualifiers at Cardiff City Stadium, starting with Bosnia-Hercegovina on 10 October.

But Trefor Lloyd Hughes said the FAW would consider returning to the Millennium if Wales do well.

"I'm not closing the door on that option," he said.

"We would love it if results go our way and we have an opportunity of qualifying then certainly I can see no problem trying to get it into the Millennium Stadium."

Wales first played a World Cup qualifier at the Millennium Stadium in 2000 against Norway, external after hosting Finland and Brazil in friendlies earlier that year.

Dwindling crowds and the team's struggles on the pitch prompted the FAW to move matches to other venues.

Since then, the majority of Wales games have been at Cardiff City Stadium with fixtures also played at Swansea's Liberty Stadium and Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli.

Wales defender Neil Taylor is one of those keen to see the team playing at the Millennium Stadium.

The Swansea left back hopes to step onto the field as a Wales player after representing Great Britain there in the London 2012 Olympics.

Taylor, 25, said: "It's such a shame we don't play there for our national team.

"To get back into the Millennium [Stadium] there have to be games that mean something, that's when people will come.

"Before, it's been the England games and stuff like that with a little bit of rivalry.

"Even when I played there in the Olympics, it's such a great stadium... but obviously it doesn't make sense to if we don't get the crowds so that's ultimately where we want to be but we know it's a long way to go to that and it's down to us to get us back there."

Wales get their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign under way on 9 September against Group B minnows Andorra on the side's newly laid 3G pitch.
