England Under-21s draw Croatia in European Championship

England have been drawn against Croatia in the qualifying play-offs for next year's European Under-21 Championship finals in the Czech Republic.

Gareth Southgate's side will play the Croatians over two legs between 8 October and 14 October, with the first leg taking place at Molineux.

England won nine out of their 10 Group One games, culminating in a 3-0 win in Moldova last week.

Croatia also topped their group with six wins from eight matches.

England reached the 2013 finals in Israel but were knocked out after losing all three of their group games.

Holders Spain have been drawn against Serbia while the other five play-off ties are Slovakia v Italy, France v Sweden, Denmark v Iceland, Netherlands v Portugal and Ukraine v Germany.

The tournament finals will take place between 17 June and 30 June next year.
