Gillingham striker Danny Kedwell has been ruled out for at least three weeks after undergoing a knee operation.

Kedwell, 31, has scored four goals in seven appearances for the League One club this season.

The former AFC Wimbledon forward has not played since sustaining the injury during the Gills' 2-0 win over Crewe on 30 August.

Gills boss Peter Taylor said:, external "If it goes well it will be three weeks, he'll carry on doing a lot of work."

Taylor added that the club would not be seeking any loan cover during Kedwell's absence.
