Scott Rendell's hat-trick lifted Woking up to fourth in the Conference

Scott Rendell's hat-trick helped Woking ease past struggling Southport.

Rendell headed in Woking's first from a Theo Lewis cross before the break and a deflected Lewis strike made it 2-0.

David Fitzpatrick slotted home to give Southport hope but Guiseppe Sole's fine free-kick restored the two-goal lead.

Luke Foster's header again put the hosts in touch, but Rendell nodded in another fine Lewis delivery and then he completed his treble from the penalty spot after Foster fouled Josh Payne.

The win takes Woking up to fourth spot in the table and leaves Southport fourth from bottom.

Woking boss Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"It was a game we dominated for long periods and we dominated the first half when we had lots of opportunities, but never punished them to put the game to bed.

"It's a very good scoreline to go away but I was disappointed in the goals we conceded today.

"But a very good three points and I think today we dominated and deserved the three points.

"There was no panic when we lost to Torquay and Bristol Rovers, but we responded with a good win on Tuesday against Nuneaton and a good win also today."
