Newcastle United have apologised after a problem with a newly-installed giant screen delayed the start of their Premier League game against Leicester.
Engineers were called in after wind dislodged panels surrounding the 60m structure in the Leazes Stand, and turnstiles remained closed at St James' Park until 15:15 BST.
The match kicked off at 16:00 BST, an hour later than planned.
The club said: "Supporter safety was of paramount importance."
The screen was erected during the international break and no fans were in the ground when the problem was spotted, the club said
It added: "We wish to apologise to everyone who suffered inconvenience as a result of this issue today and wish to place on record our particular thanks to all supporters at St James' Park for their patience."
