Swansea City manager Garry Monk is to meet referees' boss Mike Riley on Friday to discuss bad decisions he feels are being made by officials.

Monk labelled "disgusting" a penalty Michael Oliver awarded against the Swans as Stoke beat them 2-1 in the Premier League on 19 October.

He also said Keith Stroud was wrong to send off Federico Fernandez in a League Cup defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday.

"It's another one to add to the list," said Monk.

Swansea vice-chairman Leigh Dineen was also critical of the referee's performance at Anfield, tweeting: "What an absolute joke this is becoming.

"Multi million pound game. £stretcher refs. We need to learn from other sports b4 litigation happens."

Fernandez was shown a straight red card for a lunge on Philippe Coutinho just before Dejan Lovren's winner.

"It's clearly not a red card whatsoever," said Monk.

"If anything, the Liverpool player Coutinho's feet actually come in above our player's.

"So how he saw it as a red card is not good, but he's a good referee and hopefully he sees some sense and will rescind that red card."

The Football Association wrote to Monk to "seek his observations" regarding his comments after the defeat at Stoke.

Monk accused Stoke winger Victor Moses of cheating to win the penalty that brought them level in that match, and criticised Oliver for the decision.

The Swansea manager had previously sent a list of what he considers to be bad decisions to Riley, general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL).

He said he would add the Stoke decision and Fernandez's sending off to that list to discuss at the meeting.

"I think we are going to have to do it that hard way if decisions like this go against us which they are continuously," said Monk.

"It's another one to add to the list. I'll speak to Mike on Friday. Just to chat and go through things, there's one from Stoke and obviously this one today."

Monk said that he thought Stroud's decision to send off Fernandez at Liverpool was a major factor in his side's 2-1 defeat.

"In the second half, we really got to grips with it," Monk said. "We imposed ourselves upon Liverpool, got a deserved goal and were looking very much good for the win.

"The first goal was very soft. One that we are disappointed with. . . and the second goal came, but I think that was a lot to do with the sending off that had just happened as well."
