Truro City have signed former Torquay United defender Ed Palmer from Southern Premier League rivals Weymouth.

Palmer had previously played for City on loan from Torquay in 2011 and was linked with a move to Treyew Road in the summer, before opting for Weymouth.

But Palmer could not help Truro to a third straight win as they lost 2-0 at Hungerford Town on Tuesday.

Jake Ash was sent off in the first half before Alan O'Brien and Mark Draycott scored in the final 17 minutes.

Striker Barry Hayles got his fifth booking of the season and will now be suspended for one match.
