Truro City: Steve Tully selection backed by chairman Peter Masters

Tully has only played three times for Truro this season

Truro City boss Steve Tully has been urged to continue picking himself after the club's 2-0 win over Paulton Rovers.

The 34-year-old player-boss missed a penalty, but his side still earned their first win in four league games as Jamie Lowery and Isaac Vassell scored second half goals.

"I feel Steve's presence on the pitch did us the power of good," chairman Peter Masters told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"He needs to get his point across on that pitch and he's doing it."

It was only former Exeter City and Torquay full-back Tully's third appearance of the season, but Masters would like to see him start more often for the Southern Premier League Club.

"Hopefully Steve will be back on that pitch," he added.

"If you watched how Steve played, he played with real vigour and got stuck in and was able to control the whole field, which I thought we lacked for the last few matches.

"He realises it and he's doing it and I'm very pleased with it."
