Neil Etheridge: Oldham sign keeper on short-term deal

Etheridge had time in the youth systems at both Chelsea and Fulham

Oldham Athletic have signed goalkeeper Neil Etheridge on a short-term deal until 30 December.

The London-born Philippines international has been training with the Latics recently after being released by Fulham in the summer.

Etheridge, 24, has had previous loan spells in the Football League at Charlton, Bristol Rovers and Crewe.

"He comes in to push Paul Rachubka for the number one spot," said Latics boss Lee Johnson.

"He has a decent reputation in football and he's a good goalkeeper that is lacking a bit of experience."
